I have always been very interested in people. As a very young boy I can remember sitting on my steps and talking with people that passed by. I was then and remain now very curious about others, what they do, think, and how they see the world.
I have been counseling folks in one capacity or another my entire adult life, although officially since 2003 or so. I believe that helping others help themselves also helps oneself, and further that if people are connected to their own strengths and affirmed as individuals, they can and will succeed in overcoming life's challenges.
My family's life in public service, together with my own background in international trade and as a therapist, has helped me become acquainted with many different cultures and peoples from around the world. Take courage, the first step often seems the hardest, i.e., asking for help makes us feel voulnerable, but it is the right thing to do.
